My journey

Some methods I use include Trauma Focused- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Relational Therapy. Additionally, I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help people work through, process, and heal from trauma. I work with clients to identify growth areas, and assist on their path forward.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing expecting a different result. So I must ask you if what you’ve been doing hasn’t been working, are you ready to try something new and different?

My approach

Hello… My name is Ashley. I have over 10 years’ experience assisting and guiding people to becoming a better version of themselves.  My educational experience started out at Texas Woman’s University where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Family Studies with an emphasis on child development in 2007. From there I transitioned four years later to earn my Master of Science Degree in Community Counseling from Texas A&M University-Commerce and finished it in 2013.

I got into this field and I always took it personal because I started out wanting to become a Guardian Ad Litem. I felt that children don’t have a lot of power over decisions and I wanted to be an advocate for them in the court systems. From there, my journey progressed because I saw how unhealthy and dysfunctional the relationships are that we sometimes have to participate in and tolerate. I vowed that I didn’t want to live my life that way, and that I could possibly help others figure theirs out as well.

I have worked in a variety of settings, and now in private practice. I very much love helping people find their better lives.
